STATE CHAMPS: FFA wool evaluation team wins

State Champs– Senior Alec Winfrey and senior Sawyer Jenkins hold banners at area for the winning wool evaluation team. The two plus sophomore Bethany Jones and senior Jaclyn Beaty took the state championship, qualifying for nationals on April 25.

The FFA wool evaluation team of senior Alec Winfrey, sophomore Bethany Jones, senior Jaclyn Beaty and senior Sawyer Jenkins took first place at state on April 25. The win qualifies the team for national competition in June.

The horse judging team of senior Makaya Price, senior Sadie Jenkins, sophomore Bricia Lira and sophomore Kaily Murphy took 19th at state.

Two other teams qualified for state competition to be held this week.

The livestock judging team of senior Ryder Mata, senior Madison Logan, sophomore Jarrot Foote, junior Taylor Perryman and freshman Carson Millican took first at regionals to qualify.

The poultry evaluation team of eighth grader Carlye Winfrey, freshman Paige Perryman, freshman Delainee Neal and freshman Megan Letkeman took fifth at area to qualify for state.

The land evaluation team of freshman Randy Knelsen, freshman Brendyn LeBlanc and eighth grader Kameron Brown took sixth (one place out of state qualification).
