Perfecting the process– Junior Judy Klassen works on nail techniques during second period cosmetology. Klassen took first place in nail art at state competition and advanced to nationals in Louisville, Ky., in June.

Four SkillsUSA members took first places at the state convention in Corpus Christi on March 25-28. They will compete in the national competition in Louisville, Ky., in June.

The community service project “Give a Child a Smile” took first place for auto tech competitors senior Braeden Spence, senior Lacy Molina and junior Alexa Macias. The project catalogued the group’s efforts to give needy children bicycles at Christmas.

Junior Judy Klassen took first place in nail art also qualifying for nationals.
